Come and Listen.
Come to the waters edge, all you who know and fear the Lord.
Come to the waters edge, all you who know and fear the Lord.
Come and Listen.
Come to the waters edge, all you who are thirsty, come.
Let me tell you what He has done for me.
Let me tell you what He has done for me.
He has done for you.
Come to the waters edge, all you who are thirsty, come.
Let me tell you what He has done for me.
Let me tell you what He has done for me.
He has done for you.
He has done for us.
Come and Listen.
Come and listen to what he has done.
Come and Listen.
Come and listen to what he has done.
Come and listen to what he has done.
Come and Listen.
Come and listen to what he has done.
Sometimes I think back to the most awful places in our life stories, and I try to picture Jesus standing there…
To the family who lost their only child, their source of joy…
To the beautiful girl who was cornered and abused…
To the girlfriend betrayed by the boy of her dreams...

I wonder what my Jesus would say in those moments, if we could just hear his gentle whispers above the noise of our defeat.
I believe that Jesus feels our pain, that he feels our hearts break under the intense burden of immense suffering.
I believe that Jesus feels our pain, that he feels our hearts break under the intense burden of immense suffering.
After all, did he not take it all for us on the cross? In his darkest moments, did he not proclaim: My God my God, why have you forsaken me? Did he not feel lonely, just as we feel so alone in our darkest moments?
I wonder what his words would be… I picture him crying, longing to hold us, to speak life in that darkest hour… if we would only hear his gentle whispers and feel his warm embrace.
Come and listen. Let me tell you what he has done in me, through my darkest moments, and the light I am now able to see because he truly was right beside me, whispering truth I now hear through the countless replaying of those memories.
