thought of the day...
communication:: if you don't use it, you lose it!
everyday conversations can easily turn into routines... when the question, "how are you?" is followed by the immediate response, "good".
how often do words lose their meaning and become something vague?
i mean, what does "good" really mean for you?
in this moment? on this day? in this season of your life?
words.
emotions.
expressions.
communication.
we are never "not" communicating something. but why aren't we using our words to effectively communicate how we really feel...
-----------
this project is challenging me. i'm defining words, exploring the depths of communication.. and realizing that i myself fail to effectively communicate with the people around me.
i totally do this... i answer questions without really thinking about my answer. (and sometimes i answer, "how are you" automatically with a list of things i need to do. that wasn't even the question.) i'm robotic. superficial. fake. because i honestly don't even know how i'm doing.
i'm in a season of utter and complete chaos and confusion. i'm busier than i've ever been. thank the lord it's only a season and "this too shall pass".
"communication - if you don't use it, you lose it!"
i needed this challenge today. i'm learning so much about communication right now... funny how projects end up teaching us about ourselves in the process.
