let faith arise.

a phrase i have been pondering for few days now::  

hebrews 11:1 -- "now faith is the assurance of things hoped for.... "

other translations say:

1) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (NIV)

2) Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. (NLT)

the dictionary says: "faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of something."

i love taking the whole thing apart and just being blown away, one word at a time. i mean look at all these great words, assurance. confidence. certainty. complete trust. i could spend all day on one word alone, boy oh boy...

faith. what a beautiful word. a beautiful thought. something i need more of in my life...

faith is believing in the things 

we HOPE for.

faith is trusting in the things 

we DREAM of. 

faith is knowing the things 

we BELIEVE in.

but are certain are REAL. 

are certain WILL HAPPEN. 

hmmmm... how freakin' awesome is that?! having faith, not just wishing and hoping and dreaming, but possessing the ASSURANCE and CERTAINTY and CONFIDENCE in how we think, act, live in our journey with the One who has already written our story.

i think this is easily one of many verses written for me in this season of my life. in this season of choices, and unknowns, and exciting adventures. faith is the assurance of all these things i have hoped for, dreamed of, believed in... my whole life... faith is living out in certainty what i know to be true. faith is living each day in confidence of who i am, who i have been called to be, who i am named, who i am chosen to be for others, for our Lover... faith is incredible. 

let faith arise.
